The department of colorectal surgical oncology was founded in November 2004. There are 2 senior consultants and 2 consultants in the department, among them 3 have studied and worked abroad.

The department mainly engages in the diagnosis and treatment of the patients with colorectal cancer. It is characterized by standard oncology treatment. The radical operation on tumor are emphasized here, such as the TME for rectal cancer patients.

The ongoing minimally invasive surgery provides an alternative for the patients with the early- and middle-stage colorectal tumor, which can dramatically decrease the intra-operative pain and hospitalization time.
