As the first professional department in the head and neck surgery in China, the Department of Head & Neck Oncology, takes the lead in the development of head and neck surgery and applies itself to the scientific progress and exchange in this field.

With extensive adoption of advanced experience from at home and abroad, the department has its distinguishing features in advanced techniques and methods of treatment. Every year over 15,000 outpatients and 1,600 inpatients are treated and over 1,400 operations are performed here.

The department is always the pioneer in extending advanced techniques, which include surgical removal of carotid without restoring vessels, surgical restoration of voice, endoscopic surgery and induced chemotherapy, etc. Furthermore, more special treatments are offered to the patients. As a result, the rate of metastasis and recurrence of tumor has been greatly decreased.
