Areas of expertise in the department of neuro-oncology include the treatment of CNS and cranio-maxillofacial neoplasms. It is the first department of its kind in China focusing on treatment of CNS and cranio-maxillofacial neoplasm, and combined therapy for CNS malignant neoplasm.

There are 1 chief surgeon, 2 vice chief surgeons, 3 attending surgeons and 2 residents in the department, including 2 with medical doctor’s degree and 6 master’s degree in medicine. There are MRI, spiral CT, DSA, Muller OPS microscope and Medicon electric drill system, CUSA, etc. and many imported microsurgery instruments here. Every year, over 300 neurosurgical operations are performed in the department. Many techniques, such as surgery, interstitial brachytherapy, local chemotherapy, interventional therapy and biological therapy, etc. are applied here to improve patients’ outcomes. The curative effect is outstanding.
