The department of radiology is one of the modern tumor- imaging diagnosic centers in China featuring 3 divisions, i.e. general radiology, CT and MRI, which are equipped with state of the art imaging modalities and are capable of fulfilling research and clinical services. In the department, there are a CR machine, digital mammographic machine, digital gastrointestinal machine, 16-slice CT scanner and a 1.5T MR scanner. A picture archiving communicating system (PACS) achieves on-line digital management of an imaging database and improves both the efficiency and productivity for radiologists and technicians.
A total of 42 experts and radiologists with diverse professions are responsible for clinical services on musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, urogenital radiology and, head and neck imagings. There are 2 senior radiologists, 4 associate chief physicians and 6 attending physicians, including 2 tutors of master’s degree candidate, 1 doctor and 5 masters. The number of the outpatient visits in the department attains over 60,000 per year.
Characterized by imaging diagnosis of tumors in human body, the experts and staffs has accumulated abundant clinical experience. Research in X-ray diagnosis of bone tumors, mammography and CT diagnosis of the chest takes the lead in medical field of China.
In addition to conventional diagnostic procedures, the 3D X-ray guided needle aspiration biopsy, wire localization of the breast, etc. are also performed here. Other new advanced procedures include the volume reconstruction, virtual endoscopy, perfusion imaging of multi-slice CT, cholangiopancreatography and urography by MRI, providing quality and reliable improvements.
