With special characteristics of treatment on refractory malignancies, there are 46 beds in No. 3 department of chemotherapy. The staffs include 2 full professors, 2 associate professors, 1 postdoctoral physician, 2 physicians with master degree, and 8 post- graduates. Over 1000 outpatients and about 1500 inpatients are treated here.
With the satisfactory results in improving the life quality of patients with advanced cancer and prolonging their survival time, the physicians of the department have conducted synergistic treatment of monoclonal antibodies and BRMs with chemotherapy on refractory lymphoma and breast cancer, thermal-chemotherapeutic perfusion in peritoneal cavity on metastases of GI malignancies, combined treatment of anti-angiogenesis and chemotherapy on NSCLC, as well as the two-way chemotherapy on primary liver cancer and metastases of hepatoma.
Research programs initiated here also include acceleration of recovery for immune function of human body after chemotherapy, and improvement of patients’ tolerance on intensive chemotherapy.
